Technology is a critical enabler of businesses, helping them to reinvent themselves, be efficient and keep pace with the changing needs of consumers. A vital ingredient for business growth is keeping abreast with technological developments. To help retailers meet the challenges of the changing times, the Retailers Association of India (RAI) is hosting the Retail Technology Conclave ReTechCon on 17-18 June 2015. This annual knowledge-sharing platform was launched 10 years ago, and is the only knowledge forum focussed on the technological aspect of retail business. It is also the country’s largest conclave of its kind.

Veneeth Purushotaman, CIO, Bharti Retail shares, “Everyone eagerly awaits ReTechCon because of the opportunity it brings for all the System Integrators and Technology partners. Retailers big and small get to hear about new products and innovations. It is an excellent platform to network with colleagues in the industry,”
Relevance to business
Every year ReTechCon focuses on a theme that has relevance to businesses. The theme this year is ‘Retailing in the Digital Era’. Multiple disruptive technologies are collectively changing lifestyles, posing unique challenges to retailers. Leading the digital brigade are mobile devices that are increasingly driving consumer experience, both in-store and outside it.
Where does this leave retailers? At this juncture, they need to reassess their ‘way to play’ — their overall strategic value proposition. How well a retail organisation can capitalize on the technology evolution and use it for the benefit of its consumers, will determine whether it’s fit for retailing in the Digital Age.
For retailers who want to understand how they can leverage the power of technology for improving their business, ReTechCon is not to be missed.
